چکیده

This work introduces a new data structure, called Lattice-Valued Binary Decision Diagrams (or LVBDD for short), for the compact representation and manipulation of functions of the form θ : 2 7→ L, where P is a finite set of Boolean propositions and L is a finite distributive lattice. Such functions arise naturally in several verification problems. LVBDD are a natural generalisation of multi-terminal ROBDD which exploit the structure of the underlying lattice to achieve more compact representations. We introduce two canonical forms for LVBDD and present algorithms to symbolically compute their conjunction, disjunction and projection. We provide experimental evidence that this new data structure can outperform ROBDD for solving the finite-word LTL satisfiability problem.

A Unifying Approach to Edge-valued and Arithmetic Transform Decision Diagrams

This paper shows that binary decision diagrams (BDDs) and their generalizations are not only representations of switching and integer-valued functions, but also Fourier-like series expansions of them. Furthermore, it shows that edge-valued binary decision diagrams (EVBDDs) are related to arithmetic transform decision diagrams (ACDDs), which are the integer counterparts of the functional decisio...

Planar Multiple-Valued Decision Diagrams

In VLSI, crossings occupy space and cause delay. Therefore, there is significant benefit to planar circuits. We propose the use of planar multiple-valued decision diagrams to produce planar multiple-valued circuits. Specifically, we show conditions on 1) threshold functions, 2 symmetric functions, and 3) monodiagrams. Our results apply to binary functions, as well. For example, we show that all...

TREE AUTOMATA BASED ON COMPLETE RESIDUATED LATTICE-VALUED LOGIC: REDUCTION ALGORITHM AND DECISION PROBLEMS

In this paper, at first we define the concepts of response function and accessible states of a complete residuated lattice-valued (for simplicity we write $mathcal{L}$-valued) tree automaton with a threshold $c.$ Then, related to these concepts, we prove some lemmas and theorems that are applied in considering some decision problems such as finiteness-value and emptiness-value of recognizable t...

Symbolic Reasoning with Weighted and Normalized Decision Diagrams

Several variants of Bryant’s ordered binary decision diagrams have been suggested in the literature to reason about discrete functions. In this paper, we introduce a generic notion of weighted decision diagrams that captures many of them and present criteria for canonicity. As a special instance of such weighted diagrams, we introduce a new BDD-variant for real-valued functions, called normaliz...

Numeric Function Generators Using Decision Diagrams for Discrete Functions

This paper introduces design methods for numeric function generators (NFGs) using decision diagrams. NFGs are hardware accelerators to compute values of numeric functions such as trigonometric, logarithmic, square root, and reciprocal functions. Most existing design methods for NFGs are intended only for a specific class of numeric functions. However, by using decision diagrams for discrete fun...
